This jacket has a water-repellent BIONIC-FINISH® ECO coating. For most of the water repellent coatings on the market today, the use of fluorocarbons is the rule rather than the exception. These chemicals decompose very slowly in nature, spread easily, and are now common around the world. They affect fertility and are also suspected of causing cancer. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is manufactured using an alternative process and is not only free from PFC and fluorocarbons, but also from formaldehyde and paraffin.
The recycled materials used to make this jacket are GRS certified, which ensures that the fabric is made from recycled materials such as PET bottles, discarded fishing nets and used clothing. The GRS is the strictest certification for recycled materials currently available on the market. It includes strict controls on chemical use and tracking, as well as working conditions.
